Pro Baseball: Benino Pruneda, Mississippi Braves

Benino Pruneda pitched three innings, striking out four and allowing two earned runs Sunday in the Mississippi Braves's 9-4 loss to the Birmingham Barons. Pruneda graduated from Deer Park High School.

Pruneda is a 2006 graduate of Deer Park High School and played one season (2007) at San Jacinto College before being selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 31st round (948th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. As a pitcher Pruneda has a career minor league record through 2010 of 7-12 and an ERA of 3.52 with 254 strikeouts in 189 innings.
