Benino Pruneda pitched one inning, striking out one and allowing no earned runs Friday in the Mississippi Braves's 3-2 loss at the Huntsville Stars. Pruneda graduated from Deer Park High School.

Pruneda is a 2006 graduate of Deer Park High School and played one season (2007) at San Jacinto College before being selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 31st round (948th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. As a pitcher Pruneda has a career minor league record through 2010 of 7-12 and an ERA of 3.52 with 254 strikeouts in 189 innings. Kendrick Artez Perkins went 2 for 4 with two RBIs in the GCL Red Sox's 3-2 loss to the GCL Twins on Friday. Perkins graduated from La Porte High School.

Perkins is a 2010 graduate of LaPorte High School. He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round (203rd overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.
