published Jun. 3, 2011Benino Pruneda pitched one inning, striking out one and allowing no earned runs Thursday in the Mississippi Braves's 4-2 loss to the Mobile Bay Bears. Pruneda graduated from Deer Park High School.
Pruneda is a 2006 graduate of Deer Park High School and played one season (2007) at San Jacinto College before being selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 31st round (948th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. As a pitcher Pruneda has a career minor league record through 2010 of 7-12 and an ERA of 3.52 with 254 strikeouts in 189 innings. He has advanced as high as AA in the Braves' pitching in 2010 for Mississippi of the Southern League. He was born Aug. 8 1988 in Houston. Read more...
