College Softball: Amanda Nguyen, West Point

Amanda Nguyen went 3 for 4 and scored two runs in West Point's 8-6 victory over Yale University on Thursday. Nguyen is a 2010 graduate of Dobie High School.

Nguyen played at Dobie high school for coach Robin Rackley in 2006-2010. In 2009 Nguyen earned two All-State honors from the Texas Girls' Coaches Association and the Texas Sportswriters Association. She was team captain in 2009 and 2010 and a Second-Team selection as a sophomore. Nguyen was a three-time All-District selection and earned First-Team accolades. She played club ball for the Texas Shockwave Demarini Gold Team. She is the daughter of Vinh and La Nguyen.
